The Colares Ensemble is a wind quintet made up of graduates of the Royal College of Music, bringing together a group of dedicated and accomplished young musicians. In recent years, the ensemble has developed a strong artistic identity through its commitment to exploring a broad and demanding repertoire.

The group has performed at a variety of distinguished venues, including Regent Hall, the Savile Club and Charlton House. The group won the Royal College of Music Wind Chamber Music Prize and reached the semi-finals of the Royal Overseas League Competition. These experiences have provided valuable opportunities to engage with diverse audiences while cultivating a refined and collaborative approach to chamber music.

The Colares Ensemble was selected to participate in the 2026 Concours International de Musique de Chambre de Lyon, where the players enjoyed presenting a series of challenging and exciting recitals on an international stage.

Individually, members of the ensemble are active as soloists and orchestral musicians, taking part in projects across the UK and internationally. This wide-ranging experience informs the ensemble’s performances, bringing versatility, musicianship, and a shared sense of artistic purpose to the stage.
